True Love, they say, is the only feeling in the world that makes us unconditional. With an expectation’s list (as long as Rapunzel’s hair), this generation had almost forgotten the meaning of ‘unconditional love’ until Bhushan Kumar’s Tum Bin 2, introduced Shekhar (Aditya Seal). Even if eyes alone could do the talking for a film, Aditya’s would have. He reawakened Taran’s (Neha Sharma) heart’s deepest desires with his unconditional support. In an emotionally sparked drama, his portrayal of Shekhar planted ‘hope’ in many hearts that yearn to live and love again.
To be Shekhar onscreen demanded a certain kind of maturity, and expressions of deep rooted feelings that are often left unheard, and to have mastered the art of expressing these ineffable feelings, one has to experience it himself. “I think it was all in the way it was written. When the first edit of the movie was completed, it was three and a half hours long. There were nice transitioning scenes in between every ‘major’ moment. But yes, when one has been through certain situations in life, and the realisation that you cannot be with the girl you love for certain reasons has hit you hard, an understanding of these feelings help you express better,” Aditya says. The actor confesses to relate with ‘Shekhar’ for a lot of reasons, “but there is one major difference between the two of us,” he points out, “Shekhar thinks a lot before acting on it, I am very spontaneous. The relativity I have with Shekhar is in the way he deals with his emotions. You will not realise it until you really know me, but I am quite intense as a person.”
