The talented Thilina Nuwan Anuradha speaks to HAIR in an exclusive interview on what it takes to be a sensational stylist to the stars.

Q How did you decide on hair styling as a career?

A I am from Sri Lanka and at the age of 15, I started working in a casino, due to my family commitments. The work was hectic, a friend of mine suggested that I should shift my profession and try being a hairstylist. I went for an interview to Ramani Fernando Salon and got selected for training. I instantly fell in love with hairdressing then.

Q You draw inspiration from… A

I’ve met many professional hairdressers certified by great training institutions across the globe and I draw inspiration from their work. I love observing their style of work, and clean hair statements. However, I cannot forget the help rendered by hairstylist Kamal, from Sri Lanka in shaping up my career. I owe a lot to him.

Q Tell us about your association with Page 3?

A I joined Page 3 as a Creative Salon Director in 2013. I believe hair styling and beauty should go hand-in-hand and with growing demand for personal grooming, one should follow international standards to have happy customers. I introduced such standards by providing regular in-house training for hair stylists and keeping a tab on the latest hair styling trends through research and travelling extensively worldwide.
