Love the thought of fitting in an extra workout every day? Are you strapped for cash and want to save on your commute? Or perhaps you’re craving a bit of fresh air at the weekend? A bike is all you need! And before you turn the page, thinking ‘no way’, bear with us!

If road-safety fears are what’s stopping you hopping on two wheels (you’re not alone – only four per cent of women cycle more than once a week*), did you know there are lots of ways to cycle safely these days, with more and more cycle routes and initiatives springing up all the time? All you need is a ‘can-do’ attitude!

In a recent study by Cycling UK (cyclinguk. org – check out its useful tips), men in England made three times as many cycle trips as women – but why should they get all the fun, plus oodles of health and fitness benefits?
