Thandiswa’s musical journey continues to prove her greatness
MUSICIAN Thandiswa Mazwai gave everyone the surprise of their lives earlier last month when out of the blue she announced the release of her third studio album called Lebede.
A TRIBUTE TO HER MOTHER
The muso had taken a break for seven years before announcing the pleasant surprise and fans were excited about the news.
“Making this album was a sonic delight and I feel blessed to have been able to sing some of these songs and pay tribute to some of the most rebellious and monumental musicians of my time,” she says in a statement about her new album.
Lebede, a jazz tribute album named after her mother who passed away when she was just 16 years old, has a lot of songs that were sung during the struggle for freedom in South Africa.
