A WEEK hardly goes by without a report of a child being killed, raped, abused or even abandoned in our country. A Medical Research Council study on child homicide reveals that children in South Africa are at the highest risk of unnatural death in the first six days of life. The picture of the issue remains blurred as there’s no comprehensive research on violence against children and many cases go unreported.
