Corrie’s Kym Marsh is all about her children, but like her character, Michelle, she’s had to make tough decisions too…

While some parents relish the freedom when their grown-up children flee the nest, Kym Marsh most definitely isn’t one of them.

Her two eldest are in their 20s now, but the Coronation Street actress could not be happier that both of them are still living under her roof.

“There’s no sign of them going anywhere anytime soon, which is fine with me,” she smiles. “A mother doesn’t just go: ‘oh, well, you’re in your 20s now, so bye, get on with your life.’ You’re always a mother until the day you die.

“I love having them around and I don’t want them to go anywhere. I’m happy as we are, let them stay! I’ll be devastated when they eventually do decide to move out – I don’t even want to think about it.”

Kym, who has spent the past 13 years playing Coronation Street’s Michelle Connor, is mum to David (23) and Emilie (20) from a previous relationship, and seven-year-old Polly from her former marriage to actor Jamie Lomas. David is a wall and floor tiler and Emilie works long hours in a beauty salon.
