How to Look Out for Loved Ones Who May Be at Risk
Partner abuse is a serious problem in New Zealand. According to the government’s It’s Not OK campaign, one in three women experiences physical and/or sexual violence from a partner in her lifetime and one Kiwi woman is killed by her partner or ex-partner every month.
Many are too embarrassed, ashamed or scared to reveal they’re being abused by their other half and the signs that they’re at risk can be missed, even by those close to them.
