Kate Shows Off Her Winning Ways

The Duchess is poised for a comeback.

She’s been relatively low-key of late, thanks in part to the spotlight being on her sister-in-law.

But with Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, due to go on maternity leave very soon, now is the time for Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, to shine once more.

Kate (37) has been happy to take a back seat while the attention has been focused on Meghan, says a royal insider, but once the former actress steps away in the final stages of her pregnancy, Kate will get a chance to remind us why she won a place in so many people’s hearts after marrying Prince William.

“A lot of the attention has been on Meghan since she came on the scene in 2016 and that is only to be expected,” says the source. “People were pleased for Prince Harry and, of course, Meghan has been a very unique addition to the royal family.

“Kate has often been in the background during this time, which is unlikely to have been a problem for her, partly because she has been on maternity leave herself for much of it. But now we are going to get to see once more just how good Kate is for the royal family.”

Rumours persist of a feud between Kate and Meghan. At a reception last week to mark the 50th anniversary of the investiture of their father-in-law as the Prince of Wales, they were photographed standing as far away from each other as possible. But insiders say Kate doesn’t have to worry about Meghan (37) overshadowing her because she is secure in her role as wife and mother to two future heirs to the throne.
