The Actor Still Can’t Believe He’s Married to Such a Catch.
On May 6, George Clooney celebrated his 58th birthday, the same day as the much-anticipated arrival of Meghan and Harry’s royal son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
“It’s a big day for me and now some royal child has been born,” George couldn’t resist joking a few days later, when the producer, director and star sat in a Beverly Hills hotel suite to talk about his TV series Catch-22.
When asked if reports he and his wife, Lebanese-British human rights lawyer Amal, will be the godparents, he laughs again. “I’m the father of twins. I have enough s*** to deal with – literally!”
While the couple deny reports that they may become the royal baby’s godparents, George still speaks glowingly of his friends, after attending their wedding and hosting them pre-baby at his Lake Como mansion in Italy.
He also volunteered that he and Amal have a home in Sonning, Berkshire, not far from Meghan and Harry in Windsor. “We have dinners and stuff, and we’re friends with them for all the reasons that you’re friends with anybody,” he explains. “They’re just really nice, fun, kind people. They’re a loving couple and they’re going to be great parents.”
The Oscar-winning star has had a busy five years, transitioning from Tinseltown’s most eligible bachelor to doting husband and father of twins Ella and Alexander, now two.
