Hugh Jackman fans are in for a treat when the Aussie superstar touches down in Auckland to perform a concert here for the first time.
The Grammy winner has earned rave reviews across the ditch as he tours his Broadway style show, The Man. The Music. The Show, in which he sings numbers from his hit movies The Greatest Showman and Les Misérables, and even does a masterful tap-dancing routine to AC/DC’s Thunderstruck.
On the tour’s Sydney leg, Hugh (50) cemented his status as one of the nicest guys in Hollywood when he paused his performance to record an encouraging video for Olivia Newton-John (70), who had spoken on Australian TV the night before about facing her third battle with cancer.
“Hi Olivia, it’s Hugh – and 15,000 of your friends and family,” he said, turning the phone to reveal the audience behind him.
“I don’t know if all of you saw 60 Minutes last night, but I did,” he said to the audience, before addressing the Grease star again. “Listen, you are the most amazing person, the most amazing mum, the most amazing ambassador, singer, dancer... We just love you.”
Hugh then invited the crowd to join him in saying, “We love you, Olivia!”
The actress later revealed that she cried when she saw the “sweet and thoughtful” clip.
