Love And Marriage Wasn’t On Their Minds When They Met
She’s clever, she’s beautiful and she snared one of the most eligible bachelors in the world. It might seem like things come easily for Amal Clooney, but the human rights lawyer admits that before she met George Clooney, she thought true love might have bypassed her.
Amal (40) says while falling for the Oscar-winning actor felt like “the most natural thing in the world”, there was a time when she wasn’t sure she would ever find Mr Right.
“Before that experience, I always hoped there could be love that was overwhelming and didn’t require any weighing or decision-making,” she tells in a recent Vogue interview.
“It’s the one thing in life that I think is the biggest determinant of happiness, and it’s the thing you have the least control over. Are you going to meet this person? I was 35 when I met him. It wasn’t obvious that it was going to happen for me.”
George (56) felt the same way before he met Amal. “I’d pretty much committed to the idea of never marrying again,” says the Oceans 11 star, who was previously married for a short time to actress Talia Balsam.
“But I started dating Amal and I immediately knew that something was different.”
