ABOUT ME I’m Hannah Argyle, 39, a photographer, and I live here with my two boys, aged nine and seven.
MY HOME A four-bed Victorian terrace in Northamptonshire, built-in 1870. I bought it in December 2009.
WHEN I MOVED IN The property was very dated with lots of bright red walls, which made it feel small and dark, but the bare bones were there and I knew it had potential.
AND NOW I’ve redecorated it all, sanded and whitewashed the floorboards, and gave the garden an overhaul 18 months ago. The most recent job was updating the kitchen.
STYLE TIP To make the most of the space in a long, narrow kitchen I chose open shelves instead of wall units to keep the kitchen feeling as spacious as possible.
Before moving here, my previous house was a two bedroom Victorian terrace, but as a picture framer I wanted to work from hometo be around for my boys, so I needed something bigger,’ says Hannah. ‘It took a while to find the right house, as I was looking for that one that felt really special, as well as being near to good schools and local parks.
