‘Jewellery immortalizes our existence, as it gets passed down from one generation to the next. When I design, I choose to exaggerate the forms and gemstones, through hand-made jewellery making techniques, infusing it with fantasy, femininity and messages, that tell our story’.
Creation of a prayer pendants
Reminiscing her treasured days, Pallavi says, The last time that I truly met my grandfather was when I was in college. I was twenty years old then. He passed away when I was thirty five, and I didn’t get much of an opportunity to spend quality time with him in the interim period. In retrospect, I feel that there was so much that I could have learnt from him. Somehow the finiteness of life is apparent to us, only much later in our own lives and we start to value people much more when they are no longer with us.
