Fuelled By Passion

Passion gives the resilience to overcome the hurdles of today and the challenges of tomorrow, says Aliya Al Aufi.

Fuelled By Passion
Passion is a term that is sometimes associated with uncontrolled, unfocused energy or perhaps the slightly adolescent rush of youth, whichever it might be, passion defined in this way is then impermanent and raw. However, I do not believe that is the only meaning that should be given, for me passion is a natural drive that pushes us towards achieving great things. It is the essence of success – no matter what one’s passion might be, it is that internal force that keeps us pursuing our goals no matter the obstacle, and I sincerely believe it is an attribute that can be identified, nurtured and honed.

Women are often associated with “passion,” (sometimes in a deprecating way), and while it is retrogressive to think that we are governed by our passion, like all stereotypes there is a kernel of truth to it. Indeed, passion towards an object, goal or person, is a characteristic of men and women, but it is not all people who maintain that level of dedication and energy, who sacrifice and fight as hard to achieve their goal. The unique quality in gaining final success is the long-term passion that a person brings to the task.
