Flamboyant flamenco, vintage shopping and lots of quirky bars – this Spanish city truly is an arty treat
REFRESHING PITSTOPS
The food market, mercado de San Miguel, is what Friday evenings are made for. it’s under cover and you can grab a glass of delicious d.o ribera del duero red wine for a few euros and wander the stalls picking up tapas to eat on the go. gorge yourself on creamy burrata, potato croquettes with braised pork cheek, mini chorizo sausages and serrano ham sliced in front of you. Later relax with a glass of ‘vermut’ at el diario de huertas. it’s not on the menu so you have to ask, but the vermouth is like a spicy sangria.
