As Meghan nudges husband Harry towards a healthier lifestyle, Woman investigates whether we should be trying to improve our partners.
They say that behind every great man is a great woman. Someone who is there to encourage, support and comfort their partner as they navigate through their lives. Offering a few ‘pointers’ along the way is all part of the job, right?
Since they wed in May, it certainly seems this is how Prince Harry and his new wife Meghan are approaching married life. He was once known to be a party boy, but all that has changed since he met Meghan. Before the wedding, Harry was spotted in the gym and was said to be following a strict diet – a change Meghan is thought to have encouraged. The Duchess, who is expecting their first child, also reportedly persuaded her husband to quit smoking and vetted his friendship circle.
She’s not the only royal wife steering her man. the Duchess of Cambridge once admitted she was ‘filled with horror’ by William’s motorbike – not long after, the future king admitted his hobby was now on the back burner.
Like most loving wives, both women have their husbands’ interests at heart. Let’s not forget, Wills and Harry had to grow up in the spotlight without a mother figure to keep them in check, so are no doubt glad of some female guidance. But how much should a woman influence her man’s behaviour?
