Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey was shocking on many fronts, but questions have been raised over the authenticity of what they said, versus many other accounts that have latterly surfaced.

The Duke of Sussex declared he had no choice but to look for work after being ‘financially cut off’ by the royals. There was no Palace denial at the time and the accusation was accepted as fact.

Except it doesn’t appear to be fact. Annual accounts published by Clarence House reveal the pair took a sizeable chunk of the £4.5m handed by Prince Charles to his sons during the period they say they were left out in the cold.
