We should take inspiration from 2020’s heroes and give wisely this Christmas

The year of good will

If the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that life is short and we should be kind to each other. Forgetting the Battle Of The Bog Rolls back in March, incredible acts of selflessness have helped define these strange times.

From the medical staff putting in extra shifts on COVID-19 wards to Captain Tom’s (right) determination to fundraise for the NHS, this has been a year to put others first. The story of the married scientists who created the Pfizer vaccine is an example. They read in journals about a virus with no symptoms coming out of China and quickly figured out the global repercussions. They locked themselves in their lab for months until they came out with what we hope is the answer. What a gift to give the world.
