Kym Marsh explains why she doesn’t plan on returning to her pop roots...
Considering the past few months, it wouldn’t be surprising if Coronation Street’s Kym marsh was on her knees with exhaustion right now. The heart-breaking storyline which saw her character Michelle Connor suffer the tragic loss of newborn baby Ruairi won her praise for her bravery, as Kym herself had been through a similar experience when her son Archie was born 18 weeks early in 2009 and passed away shortly afterwards.
Now Michelle is in further turmoil following her discovery that husband Steve fathered Leanne Battersby’s baby after a one-night stand. Yet Kym, who shot to fame in the reality pop group Hear’Say, insists that rather than wilting under the pressure, she’s thriving on it. ‘I’m so busy, but I’m delighted – I love it,’ she smiles. ‘I’m really happy with my life right now. I mean, I could be a multimillionaire – that would be great! But otherwise everything is good.’
Kym, 40, lives in Manchester with her fitness trainer boyfriend matt Baker, her six-year-old daughter Polly from her marriage to actor Jamie Lomas and her two older children, David, 21, and Emilie, 19, from a previous relationship…
