WHAT A YEAR OF TV!

Line of Duty

Superintendent Ted Hastings, DI Kate Fleming and DS Steve Arnott investigated another case of police corruption in what has to be the most nail-biting series yet of the BBC1 drama. This sixth series kept us on the edge of our seats as we tried to sort the good cops from the bad. At one point, it even seemed like Kate had gone rogue!

Bridgerton

After dropping on Netflix on Christmas Day 2020, this regency drama and its star Regé-Jean Page became our new obsession. The story centred around the Bridgerton siblings as eldest daughter Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) entered the marriage market in London's high society. RegéJean, 33, played her love interest Simon Basset. Sadly, it doesn't look like we'll be seeing him or his magnificent torso in the drama again because, when it returns, the focus will be on another hottie, Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey).

And Just Like That

We raised a cocktail in December when this Sex and the City sequel arrived on Sky Comedy. We couldn't wait to see what had been going on in the lives of New York columnist Carrie Bradshaw and pals. We also wanted to know how it would deal with the absence of Samantha, due to actor Kim Cattrall cutting ties with the franchise.

Strictly Come Dancing

Rose Ayling-Ellis became the first deaf celebrity to take part in the BBC1 show, saying, 'I want to break down the stereotype that deaf people can't dance and can't enjoy music.' The highlight was when Rose and partner Giovanni Pernice performed a Couple's Choice. Halfway through the routine, the music fell silent for a short time to give viewers a glimpse into the world of a deaf person - and it had everyone bawling!
