‘We're Fine With Being Apart'

For Christmas lover Ruth Langsford, this time of year is all about family fun, good food and cracking open a bottle of fizz at 10am (sounds good to us!). And when Woman catches up with her, the TV presenter tells us that while she and Eamonn haven’t yet finalised their Christmas plans, she’s very much looking forward to the build-up and planning her festive outfits, as well as welcoming home their son Jack, who now lives away at university. ‘We always make it special,’ she says.

Here, Ruth also reveals what she and Eamonn bicker over during Yuletide, why she’s happy to ditch the diet and her big plans for next year with her fashion range.

Hi Ruth! How will you and Eamonn be spending Christmas this year?

It’s still early for us to have decided exactly what we’re doing, because Eamonn has family in Ireland. Like most families, our Christmases change as the years go by, depending on the age of your children, where you’re from and how old your parents are.

Could you spend Christmas apart?

We have lots of times previously and we have no issue with doing that. When Jack was young, I wanted my parents to see him and then I’d take him to Ireland afterwards. Eamonn wanted to be with his other children because he sees Jack all the time. We’ve always been fine about it. We do lots in the run-up to Christmas.
