ICONIC LONDON

WHY GO?

The country’s capital can be Marmitelike, depending on how you feel about crowds, public transport and expense, but nowhere else can beat it for the sheer variety of architecture, food and drink, activities and sights. Whether you fancy ticking off the classics, such as Big Ben, the London Eye and Buckingham Palace or prefer to wander off the beaten track and lose yourself in neighbourhoods from Bermondsey to Bloomsbury, there will always be something to captivate you.

BIRD’S EYE VIEW

With so many iconic sights to see in the capital, it can feel a bit overwhelming – that is, unless you’re travelling on an open-top bus. Cue lots of fun for everyone as the bus navigates its way around the London streets, taking in famous landmarks such as Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, St Paul’s Cathedral and the London Eye. With earphones supplied, you’ll hear the city’s history along the way too. If there are particular sights you want a closer look at, just hop on and off as often as you like. Passes for 24, 48 or 72 hours; theoriginaltour.com.
