It sounds as if this mother felt you two were closer than you actually are.

She Ignores Me In The Playground

Q A few months ago, my 14-year old daughter fell out with a friend and they have cut all contact. This is fine by me as the girls were always arguing. The problem is this girl’s mother. We have known each other for years but aren’t close, so I was surprised when she came up to me, saying how hurt she is the girls have fallen out and how I need to do something. I said as teenagers they should choose what they want to do. Since then she blanks me at school. I called her to try to talk, but she put the phone down on me. I’m furious but I don’t know what to do. Liv, 42, South London
