Take the family camping

Best for… Forest freedom

Set on Dorset’s majestic Jurassic Coast, Burnbake is an oasis for kids. Woodland surrounds the site, full of trees to climb, dens to build and streams to paddle in. The campsite neighbours a ropes course with zip-wires and an outdoor centre that offers climbing, archery and raft-building! A restaurant is on site, while Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are a short drive away, along with Corfe Castle! Camping from £31 per night for a family of four. More info: burnbake.com/campsite

Best for… Sun and sea

Spain is home to some of the best family campsites, and Cala Llevado is no different. Located an hour north of Barcelona on the Costa Brava, it makes a fabulous getaway. Perched above a glistening bay, with ocean views, a stone staircase descends to the sandy beach where you can try snorkelling or sea kayaking. Accommodation ranges from basic pitches to fully-equipped chalets, while there’s an on-site restaurant, pool, and kids playground.
