As one of the faces of Strictly Come Dancing, we’ll soon be treated to weekly doses of Claudia Winkleman up until Christmas – and that’s never a bad thing in our minds. The quirky TV presenter has co-hosted the BBC1 dancing competition, alongside Tess Daly, since 2014, and it’s impossible to imagine the programme without her now.
But Claudia, 49, says she fears she has outstayed her welcome on the show! She says, ‘I can’t get over how lucky I have been and if it ended tomorrow I’d know I’ve had a great run. If Strictly called me tomorrow and said, “You’re done,” I’d get it.’
She’s been presenting on our screens for two decades now, and mum-of-three Claudia is the first one to admit she’s been incredibly lucky with her media career. ‘Right now I’m thinking, “How is this still going on? This is not what should be happening,”’ she says.
‘I was never really that worried about it because it was all just this ridiculous thing that I was doing on the side of writing columns and working for newspapers and magazines. So everything else just felt like a hobby.’
