YOU WILL NEED:
•20cm metal zip
•20cm square of green fabric
• 50 x 50cm pale pink stripe fabric
•Matching sewing thread
•Hand-sewing needle
• Paper-backed adhesive webbing
•Pins and scissors
•Pink embroidery threads
•Small tassel maker
•Embroidery needle
1 Photocopy the monstera leaf template and cut out. Fuse the webbing to the green fabric and trace around the template onto the paper backing. Cut out and repeat until you have four leaves.
2 Cut the pink stripe fabric into four 20 x 25cm rectangles – two for the front and two for the lining – and two 4cm squares for the zip tabs. Place two leaf appliqués onto the front washbag pieces, remove the paper backing, and fuse in place.
3 With your sewing machine set to a small straight stitch, sew around the edge of each monstera leaf in a contrasting sewing thread.
