So how do the two Good Morning Britain presenters work together every day? Susanna Reid and Piers Morgan reveal to Jack White how their on-screen marriage is really made in heaven
Piers arrives on the woman&home cover shoot in a flurry of noise and activity, while Susanna calmly navigates around him. And while they both ensure they shake hands with the entire team, the dynamics between them are immediately clear. Susanna, 48, gets things organized, instructing us how to keep Piers, 54, busy – advising us to calm him down by feeding him a bacon roll – while she has her hair and make-up touched up. We follow her tip and it works like a charm. Piers is now multitasking, eating his breakfast roll while fiddling excitedly with his phone, basking in the glory as congratulatory tweets roll in about that Donald Trump interview. The only time we can get his attention is when it comes to his outfits for our shoot. When shown a clothing rail packed with designer suiting he says, ‘I’m wearing an atailored Tom Ford suit. Can’t I just keep this on?’ We agree because what Piers wants, Piers gets. While his larger-than-life attitude will come as no surprise to the TV duo’s regular viewers, he’s far from rude. And as the shoot goes on, it becomes abundantly clear how close he and Susanna really are.
When we tease Piers about being a diva, he replies, ‘I can be an insufferable diva. I’ll come in and throw my toys out of the pram, do this big thing about not having time – and then I calm down.’ Adding, ‘normally I’m pretty chilled, even going from my interview with Trump to a woman&home cover shoot – which I already would find uncomfortable.’ To this, Susanna immediately rolls her eyes, saying, ‘Oh, you’re such a reluctant cover star!’ And we realize it’s official – these two are even more fun in real life than they are on TV.
