In Hollywood, a relationship lasting 29 years after the spouses got together in their early 20s is rare indeed.
Which is why industry insiders were so shocked last week when The Mentalist star Simon Baker announced the end of his marriage to actress Rebecca Rigg after 22 years.
They met on a blind date in 1991, starred on soap E Street together and married in 1998.
In a statement to US People magazine, Simon, 51, and Rebecca, 53, said, “We remain close friends and our children will always be the most important focus of our lives,” referring to 27-year-old Stella, Claude, 22, and Harry, 19.
Fox News reports the couple split last April, further adding to the mystery of what went wrong in one of Tinseltown’s most enduring unions.
