Besotted Pierce How My Beautiful Wife Saved Me

The star’s got his own Bond girl.

Weeks out from celebrating their 17th wedding anniversary, Pierce Brosnan and his wife Keely Shaye Smith are proof that true love does still exist.

The couple – who first met 24 years ago – have one of the most rock-solid marriages in Tinseltown. And friends credit down-to-earth Keely for keeping the handsome actor so grounded.

But for Pierce, 65, Keely has been much more than just a humbling force in his life. She’s helped him cope with the grief of losing first wife Cassandra Harris to cancer in 1991 – three years before he met Keely.

“Cassie was very positive about life,” the Irish actor once said. “I mean, she had the most amazing energy and outlook. It was, and is, a terrible loss and I see it reflected from time to time in my children.

“How do you carry on afterwards? Slowly. Very, very, very slowly. It hurts. And you have to sit and endure it. There’s nothing else to do.”

Pierce and Cassandra had a son Sean, 34, and he later adopted her other children, Charlotte and Chris, as their biological father Dermot Harris had died in 1986.
