The kids say which roles she takes now!
She might be one of the most beloved actresses in Hollywood, but as far as Sandra Bullock is concerned, having her own star on the Walk of Fame comes a distant second to the role she feels that she was born for – motherhood.
After adopting Louis, eight, and Laila, six, the brunette bombshell confides, “I finally realised, ‘Oh, this is what I was supposed to do when I grew up!’ Not be an actress, but be a mom.”
Sandra’s role in Ocean’s 8 as leading lady Debbie Ocean – George Clooney’s sister who’s fresh out of jail and planning an all-female heist – is the Oscar winner’s first movie role in three years.
“My biggest productions are my children,” she says candidly. “It limits your choices, but my kids are my life – I don’t want to hand them off to someone. So when it comes to working, studio heads have to go to the kids and work out a deal because they’re the bosses!”
Sandra, 53, might be joking about the kids ruling the roost with the movie bigwigs, but she’s deadly serious about the challenges her African-American kids – who were both adopted from Louisiana, where she lives part-time – will undoubtedly encounter as they grow up.
