The busy mum makes sure her family shines as royal tensions build

A mid a firestorm of drama, speculation and behind-the-scenes meltdowns, the Duchess of Cambridge single-handedly ensured the royal event of the year went off without a hitch last week.

With her head held high, the 37-year-old proudly led her family onto the balcony at Buckingham Palace for the annual Trooping the Colour, effortlessly ensuring that all eyes were on the Cambridges.

Despite Prince Harry sporting a face of thunder – reportedly losing his temper because he felt he and his wife Meghan had been relegated to the background for the grand event – Kate showed the world just how it’s done, once again balancing motherhood, marriage and royal engagements with ease.

And with little Prince Louis seriously stealing the show on his palace balcony debut, devoted parents Kate and Prince William, 36, could only laugh as the 14-month-old tot’s enthusiastic waving threatened to knock his step-granny the Duchess of Cornwall’s hat right off its perch.

“There was something very lovely about seeing the Cambridge family all there together,” says a royal commentator. “Kate continues to lead the royal family – her poise and grace are inimitable. And the Queen is incredibly grateful to have her as she knows that as long as Kate is around, the royal family is in good hands.”
