A CRAZED FAN SENT GWYNETH SEX TOYS

At the peak of her acting career, Gwyneth Paltrow had to testify against a terrifying stalker who had followed her around California and sent her disturbing letters and parcels including sex toys.

In May 1999, crazed fan Dante Michael Soiu, now 70, appeared outside Gwyneth’s parents’ LA home. Her mother, actress Blythe Danner, asked him to leave but he returned the following day.

“I thought if I was in the same place as him he would rape me or hurt me,” the Oscar-winning actress, 47, said in court. “He was expressing a lot of anger at my parents for keeping us apart,” she said.

Following the trial in 2000, Soiu, from Columbus, Ohio, was convicted of harassing and stalking, declared insane by the judge and placed in a mental institution.

Then, almost 15 years later, he was acquitted of all charges and found “not guilty by reason of insanity”.

Soiu’s lawyers insisted he was just in need of proper medication and agreed with a jury’s “not guilty” verdict.
