Let’s be honest – Halle Berry knows she has a killer physique. “I have managed to stay in great shape,” the Oscar winner confesses of her three decades in Hollywood.

“Part of it is genetics,” she adds. “I was a gymnast growing up and that certainly has helped as I have always been very athletic.” But where DNA stops, her diet kicks in.

Determined to reverse the type-2 diabetes she was diagnosed with at 23, Halle has for years religiously followed the newly popular ketogenic eating plan, which is extremely low in carbs but high in fat.

“Being diabetic most of my life, I have always had to take food very seriously,” the Oscar-winning actress says, adding that she avoids sugar but eats plenty of avocado, coconut oil and butter. “It actually forces your body to burn fat like crazy. I also believe it’s been largely responsible for slowing down my ageing process.”

Indeed, at 52, Halle says, “I’m in the best shape of my life.”
