The longtime rivals finally call a truce
For more than a decade, Hollywood arch-enemies Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston went out of their way to avoid each other. Their assistants would politely decline invites if they knew the other would be there and hosts would carefully choose between the actresses when making their guest lists.
But Woman’s Day can reveal that since Angelina’s shock split from Brad Pitt 18 months ago, the women have softened their attitudes. Jennifer, who separated from husband Justin Theroux in February, no longer harbours ill feeling toward the woman blamed for the end of her marriage with Brad. “She’s had so much therapy to get to this point and she says it feels good to let it go,” spills the source.
And last week, the two women came face-to-face at their mutual friend Reese Witherspoon’s 42nd birthday party in a meet-up that left the other guests reeling. The Big Little Lies star, who is good pals with both Angelina and Jennifer, decided it was time they bury the hatchet.
