The princess’ happy ever after is causing a royal rage
As Princess Eugenie excitedly counts down the days until her dream wedding, outrage has erupted over her attempts to outdo Prince Harry and the Duchess of Sussex’s nuptials, with British taxpayers in uproar about footing the $4 million security bill.
However, while other members of the royal family are quietly fretting over the unseemly extravagance, the unrepentant princess – who is ninth in line to the throne – won’t let criticism dampen her big day, even racking up more expenses as she makes last-minute additions to her planned celebrations!
A source close to the 28-year-old tells Woman’s Day, “Eugenie is on cloud nine and has ignored most of the complaints. While she knows there are certain relatives who are less than impressed with the budget, she insists she won’t be made to feel ashamed for having a lavish wedding. She’s even gone overboard with some eleventh-hour preparations to prove her point.”
After Eugenie marries tequila ambassador Jack Brooksbank, 32, at St George’s Chapel at Windsor on October 12, the newlyweds had planned to celebrate with three parties over two days – with a total budget estimated at an eye-watering $5.4 million.
But now the princess is stretching out the festivities with a string of expensive pre-wedding activities, including a hen’s weekend of pampering for her six closest friends, a special dinner hosted by her mum, the Duchess of York, 58, and a VIP bridal shower thrown by her big sister, Princess Beatrice, 30, with Meghan, 37, and the Duchess of Cambridge, 36, among the guests.
