How It Helps.
Guilt is commonly associated with a feeling of having done a negative act, and it is an emotion everyone goes through. From childhood, we have had our naughty moments, we voluntarily engage in pranks and just imbibe the feeling of having performed a wrong act though we know it is not appealing to the other person.
Nobody likes the experience of being guilty, but it is a part of just being human, and the feeling emerges from anger, involuntary mistake, misconstrued trust and so on. There is a section of the population that does not respect the harsh feeling of guilt, and such people engage in crimes, and are probably not afraid of the fairness and harshness of law.
