The Perfect Garden Pathway

A garden pathway winding through a leafy glade, inviting people to step on and mosey round among the luxuriant foliage of your garden can be a blissful experience in itself. There’s no denying that a garden pathway easily transcends its prime functionality of being a mere walkway and becomes the highlight of your garden space and a visual treat like a piece of personalised art.

Perfect pathway

When choosing a pathway for your garden, besides ticking the basic economic, maintenance and durability aspects on your checklist, here are some other factors that will help you decide on the best and most suitable garden pathway for you.

The first purpose of a pathway is to facilitate access to every single corner of your garden.

Your pathway must frame your garden layout.

It must appear inviting.

It should be broad enough for two persons to walk side-by-side.

Have scope to incorporate indigenous material. For instance, near a sea beach, pebbles can be used. For a hilly terrain, rocks and stones are a good option.

Consider the surface of the pathway for a comfortable gait, as well as a smooth or rough finish.

Choose one depending upon your home. For instance, contemporary, traditional or country, you can choose materials for a pathway with clean and geometric shaped stones, brick and cut stone or again, irregular shaped rough textured stones, respectively.

Kinds of pathways

From the old brick pathway to the concrete, cobblestone, gravel, stepping-stone pathway, you have many choices when it comes to selecting one for your garden. Although they are all appealing, to help you make a decision, here are details regarding different pathways and their main features.
