Yes, I Am a Mem!
Woman's Era|December First 2016

Peace, love, grace and tranquillity cannot be bought by money, demand or slavery. It develops within.

Binita Baruah
Yes, I Am a Mem!

Scene 1: I am born perfect! I am

smart since childhood! Everyone loves me, adores me and looks up to me! I have a face that can be compared with the Bollywood heroines of yesteryear. I was a great gardener at one point of time, a great cook at one point of time, mastered tailoring, and was an artist at one point of time (“one point of time”)! In short, I am super-efficient and a great achiever in every field of life: in and out! There would be few of this rare of a species with such efficiency in every field. I am the best example of “Being Perfect”!

Scene 2: I am born perfect! I was smart …..

Scene 3: I am born perfect! I was….

Unremitting for the last 40 years or even more, I have a fixed set of dialogues, fixed set of stories and I repetitively narrate them – not once, twice but infinite times – not perturbed if people find it annoying. And when I speak, others are quiet, not because they lend their ears, but I give nobody a chance to talk- It is only I, Me and Myself! This is my life and it has been very easy: I simply LIE – “at one point of time”!

JUST A MEM

I was graced as a woman, a good marriage and blessed with three children - two handsome sons and a beautiful daughter. Although I experienced the joy of being a woman and a mother, I chose not to play either of the roles, but decided to be a mem! A Mem? Well, medical science has not elaborated the disorder in their manuals, nor discovered a cure for such a deadly syndrome, but researchers have postulated many theories and the tragic consequences of such a pitiful syndrome – “mother enmeshes men” in short, MEM.
