Determine the severity of the injury by first evaluating the scenario. If your pet is in severe pain or bleeding heavily, it's best to take them to the vet immediately. If the injury is minor, you can try to treat it at home.
Next, clean the wound and apply pressure if necessary. If the wound is bleeding, try to apply pressure with a clean cloth to help stop the bleeding. Once the bleeding has stopped, you can clean the wound with warm water and soap.
