Buy Some Time finds the winning factor

BETTER ground proved to be the winning factor for six-year-old Buy Some Time who landed the maiden (division two) under Joe Wright for Anthony Ross after pulling up in his last two races.

“He ran last year in a maiden and ran well but has been a bit disappointing early on this season, which is probably a mixture of needing slightly better ground and a flatter track,” explained Joe.

“He won pretty well this time – he’s been waiting for the better ground. He jumped well and followed them round until three out and then nipped up the side, quickened up two out and put it to bed. He’ll probably go for a restricted now.” James King set up a

successful weekend with a win in the intermediate riding 11/10 favourite Glenmount for Julie Wadland and The 360 Racing Club, before heading to Seavington to win two more (see box, right).

The six-year-old Court Cave gelding has now won three from five and finished second in the other two.

“Julie and the team have done an amazing job with him. He’d had a bit of a tough time,” said James. “He prefers a left-handed track and has progressed from run to run. He’ll be put away for the summer now.

“His brother Winter Avenue was very talented so if he ends up half the horse his brother is, we’ll have a very fun horse on our hands.”
