Warda Nadiadwala has the perfect, kittenish looks to match those of Kylie and Ginger. And she purrs and fusses over them just as well. And not just she but the entire clan is crazy over the two beautiful, elegant and pretty Persians. “Yes, ma’am,” says bubbly Warda, “We do spoil them, all of us!”
It was quite evident that everyone in the family loves Kylie and Ginger to bits. Seated there in their grand, high-ceilinged living room, facing the sea at Juhu, I was witness to all the love being showered on the two. Starting with Sajid, his ma, his wife and their two sons, Subhan and Sufyan, all tried to coax and coo the two pets, hug them, caress them, cuddle them.
“I really do find it quite funny, how all of us want to be Number 1 in their lives. How each of us like to believe, they love us the most!” says Warda, adding, “But the honest truth is they are SN’s cats NOW!”
SN is how Warda addresses her husband – and I suppose all of the film industry where Sajid Nadiawala plays an important part and is certainly a well-respected name. But the emphasis in Warda’s comment is on ‘NOW’. For as it does happen, the idea to get home a pet, a dog actually, was that of Subhan and Sufyan, both animal lovers. It was only in 2018 that Sajid actually gave in to their continued requests, saying, “Alright, alright, no dog, but you can get home a cat, but keep it out of my bedroom!” So not one, but two kittens found their way into the Nadiadwala household. “We went to a very nice place in Lokhandwala and found these,” says 14-year-old Sufyan. “Bhaijaan named one and I, the other!” So Sufyan selected Kylie, being a fan of the Jenner sisters and Subhan, Ginger, “because she looks so gingerish!” Well there, so the names are sorted!
