Come Home to Dior

To spend a night in the private suite of 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris is to be able to submerge oneself in the storied past of Dior. Ever since the eponymous designer set up his haute couture atelier here in late 1946, and later his boutique, the building has quietly witnessed the making of the maison's icons-the New Look collection and Miss Dior fragrance were unveiled here-and countless fashion shows. Built as a private mansion in 1865, the building underwent a two-and-a-half-year renovation before reopening this March.

In its 100,000-square-foot, seven storeyed avatar, the world's biggest Dior store offers a permanent exhibition space, gardens, restaurants, exclusive haute couture salons, and a secret apartment tucked away on the fourth floor called La Suite Dior. The cherry on the top? Guests checked into the suite have round-the-clock access to the entire: space, including couture fittings in the salons, exclusive tours of the museum and private dinner parties in the rooms where Christian Dior himself entertained.
