THE LUXE EFFECT
Architect and Interiors India|July 2022
THE INTERPRETATION OF LUXURY HAS COMPLETELY CHANGED FROM WHAT IT STOOD FOR A FEW YEARS AGO. LET'S DELVE DEEPER INTO THE THOUGHT PROCESSES OF SOME OF INDIA'S LEADING DESIGNERS TO KNOW WHAT CONSTITUTES LUXURY WHEN IT COMES TO HOMES.
THE LUXE EFFECT

The last few months have seen the luxury home market boom. Real estate developers have a lot of say when it comes to the increase in demand towards luxury homes and the latest data illustrates intriguing trends in the uber-luxury world. Technology is becoming integral, and people are now looking beyond the Midas touch and European names for the basics of spatial experience and customised comfort. Renowned designer Sumeessh Menon says, “An uber luxury home is one that defines your style and at the same time caters to your lifestyle in a way that is timeless, elegant, and of course, functionally flawless.” Bengaluru-based Sandeep Khosla agrees, “It is all about a high degree of customisation, careful curation of furniture and objects, tailor made to the clients need and specification, and bespoke elements like lighting furniture and accessories.”

IF YOU DON’T HAVE THAT BASIC QUALITY OF SPACE, NATURAL LIGHT, PRIVACY, A GOOD VIEW AND A CONNECT TO THE OUTDOORS, TO US, THE SPACE DOES NOT FEEL LUXURIOUS. — SANDEEP KHOSLA & AMARESH ANAND, KHOSLA ASSOCIATES
