Design Studio Vito Selma owns and runs a one-hectare furniture manufacturing facility in Mandaue City, Cebu in Central Philippines. It has a workforce of 140 employees, 90% of which belongs to the production department. Six designers are on board, along with some engineers. Vito Selma, scion of the family that owns the company, personally leads the creative team.
Unlike other factories that specialise in one or two materials, Archipelago has the capacity to work with a wide variety of materials, according to Selma. “We are even capable of developing new materials for our clients and their projects,” he adds.
Design Studio Vito Selma does not set a minimum order quantity (MOQ) on any project it undertakes. “We have decided to adopt a ‘no MOQ’ policy and to focus instead on producing quality work for our quality-driven clients. These transactions can be as small as one piece all the way to furnishing an entire hotel development.”
Design Studio Vito Selma caters more to OEM projects, as the company is client-driven. “Our clients normally ask us to produce items according to their specifications. Occasionally, some of them ask us to develop their designs into other forms or with new materials. Meanwhile, we offer our ODM service mostly to our clients in the Middle East.”
