LAMBORGHINI certainly knows how to throw a party. This year marks the company's 60th anniversary and it's no surprise the Italian brand has cooked up something special to celebrate the landmark.
For the firm's 25th anniversary in 1989 it launched a new Countach, and to mark its 50th, 350 Lamborghinis travelled in convoy from Milan to the Sant'Agata factory. This year it's a bit of both. We've already seen a spectacular new Lamborghini - the long-awaited, much-discussed Revuelto - but now it's time for pageantry.
The record for the number of Lamborghinis in a single parade was set in Japan earlier this year, with 251 cars taking to the Suzuka circuit. But as part of the latest birthday celebrations, the plan is to break this record. The location for the attempt? Silverstone.
We are, of course, joining the event in style. 'Our' (well, okay, Lamborghini's) grey and black Huracán STO might not be the most colourful car on the track, but it's certainly special. Then again, what Lamborghini isn't?
As owners begin to arrive at Silverstone's iconic Wing building on the Formula One pit lane, the noise - or music as Lamborghini would probably prefer to call it - starts with a roar of wonderful V8s, V10s and V12s. No less than 382 Lamborghinis have turned up for the event, blitzing the previous record.
As you'd expect, the majority of the cars are examples of the Urus, Aventador and Huracán, but also on show are Lamborghini's own heritage vehicles, fastidiously maintained by the company's Polo Storico department in Italy. Guests can take a look at classic examples of the 400 GT, Miura, Espada, Countach, Diablo and LM002, plus even an ultra-rare Reventon.
