If you want a plug-in hybrid Mercedes-Benz A-Class, you will now have to plump for the saloon bodystyle. As part of the model's mid-life refresh, the A250e hatchback has been dropped, which seems like an odd decision - until you look in the back.
One compromise of the A250e was that the relocation of the petrol tank and the packaging of the battery system significantly reduced the boot's size. That's less of a problem in the saloon, because it already has more space in the back.
