Although lovingly called Bombay, Mumbai has been christened with many names in its rather illustrious history. From being the financial capital of a vibrant nation, to being the incubation pod where many dreams see light of the day, Mumbai might be a metropolitan city but it is more than just that. A city is built, nurtured, and often destroyed by its own people. Mumbai is no different. It is a living being… thriving and surviving. It is an emotion and a way of life but people who actually live here, know that the Mumbai chaos is romanticized a lot. This hustle culture is often worshipped but the demons that we have to exorcize on a daily basis, would put any preacher to shame. These demons include ruthless mumbai monsoon, the infamous traffic and road surface which would improve your slalom skills unlike any other drill. Even after all this, Mumbaikars still find a way to make their dreams a reality. They still find a way to keep the spirit of Mumbai truly alive and singing. To capture this essence, we set out on a journey piercing through the City of Dreams on something that was unpretentious, yet very special.
The Ather Rizta. A quintessential family electric scooter to deal with the Mumbai madness? You bet. It was destined to be an ultimate test for the Rizta, as it had to don the role of a common man’s chariot, ferrying us through the city which turns into an absolute warzone from time to time. From one of the southernmost points in Mumbai to the heart of it, this journey is traversed by lakhs of Mumbaikars, all day, everyday… Come what may!
