The Ather 450S is a more affordable variant of the popular electric scooter that has been launched to appeal to a wider audience. We got to swing a leg over it and here is our first impression

EASY ACCESS

WITH THE REDUCTION in Fame II subsidies, electric scooters have become an expensive proposition. To bridge this gap and offer a product that is accessible to more customers, Ather has launched the 450S. The brand has always stayed true to its design language and the S variant is no exception. It gets a smaller 2.9kWh battery pack which gives it an IDC range of 115 kilometres. This translates into a realworld mileage of between 80 and 100 kilometres. From all the data collected by Ather, it realized that the average customer covers approximately 28 km per day; so an electric scooter that offers this kind of range would easily meet that requirement. This EV has a claimed 0-40 km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds and the S variant has a top speed of 90 km/h.
