
Throughout his life he dedicated his work for the noble and charitable causes, which made him a gem and a legend cherished by billions of people around the world. Ratan Tata took up the chairmanship of the Tata Group and Tata Sons in the year 1991 and served the group till 2012.
He graduated from Cornell University College of Architecture and later joined the Tata Group in 1962. He started his career by working on the shopfloor of Tata Steel, and later succeeded J.R.D Tata Under his leadership, Tata Group went on to acquire brands such as Tetley, Jaguar, Land Rover, and Corus. By doing so he took the brand to the global markets. This turned a new page for the group’s revenue. Over 65 percent of the group’s revenue started coming from the international sales and operations.
