Details are, I must say, good. Paint finish, chrome, coatings and engine unit are all first-rate when compared to previous Enfields and similarly-priced rivals. Then you have design: the seats look just right; the aluminium switchgear a nice touch; the rear light gorgeous; the hand grips feel a nice shape... hell, even the speedo and standard satnav look well-designed.
There are a few touches I don't like. The feet-forward pegs look like they were made by the apprentice at a forge, with poor welding (I should know) with off-cuts of sheet metal and tubing. And the gear lever placement was worked out using Boris the Big-footed Bear. I have size nine feet and shifting up a gear has me missing the boot's gearchange pad and using my toes. Yet the rear brake is perfectly positioned - work that out - did Boris have a dicky right foot? The pillion pegs are high, giving any pillion a racehorse riding position and novice or young pillions an uneasy ride unless they have a backrest. Shame, as the rest of the bike works for a smooth two-up ride.
